February, 2025 – SteelToad was recently awarded a contract by Manufacturing x Digital (MxD) to help organizations become Digital, Part-Centric, Model-Based Enterprises (MBE). The contract aims to address the limitations of MBE as the industry continues moving towards digital enterprises that use digital models and associated datasets as the foundation for the product lifecycle.

As the world changes, the industry is moving towards a digital model-based enterprise. This will allow U.S. organizations develop faster than competitors, meet customer demands with compressed development timelines, increase responsiveness to product change, and keep pace with industry and culture. “STEELTOAD has extensive expertise and years of experience in conducting cybersecurity and model-based maturity assessments,” said Dean Rock, CEO of SteelToad. “We are thrilled to collaborate with MxD and continue our work in the manufacturing sector. By leveraging our deep understanding of maturity models and cyber frameworks, and integrating the insights from these assessments, we aim to drive impactful and efficient advancements that benefit both the model and the organizations adopting it.”

STEELTOAD is conducting a no-cost MBE-tailored assessment across five categories, including Design, Product Data Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Enterprise Enablement activities to provide a focus for organizations wanting to develop MBE implementation plans. We will assess an organization’s “current state” against its “to-be desired state” to embrace standards, technologies, processes, and business practices that will realize a Model-Based Enterprise. This MBE initiative is fully funded by the Department of Defense (DoD) through MxD, ensuring no financial assessment burden for participating organizations, beyond their time.
