bwtech@UMBC provides expertise to faculty, students, and startups through our Entrepreneurs in Residence (EiR) program.

EiRs can offer vital assistance in several key areas, such as:
- Bridging the gap between research and commercialization.
- Providing guidance, leadership, and a path to follow.
- Open opportunities to meet with potential investors, customers, and other business partners.
- Developing a strong relationship with an experienced, successful business leader that can guide a company to the next level.

Maryland Innovation Initiative Site Miner
David Fink, PhD. has worked in biotechnology and biomedical product development for more than 40 years, serving as either the founder or top officer of seven startups. In addition to advising Life Science Incubator companies at bwtech@UMBC, he is the Site Miner for UMBC research that, with support from the Maryland Innovation Initiative, holds the potential for commercialization.
Hillel Glazer, is a delivery and performance wizard. He gets delivery flowing and unlocks performance by integrating the experience of a worldwide, industry-spanning career of over 30 years in engineering, performance, manufacturing, quality, compliance, and transformations. Drawing from Federal employment and engagements in DOD, NASA, and Department of Treasury, and from the world’s largest medical and financial powerhouses, as well as from startups.
