bwtech is thrilled to announce a new strategic partnership with Startup Grind Maryland, a community of innovators, creators, technologists, startups and scaling companies, investors, and educators with over 12,000 members. Startup Grind Maryland is part of Startup Grind, a global community with over 5 million members in 600 chapters and 140 countries.

Through this collaboration, bwtech and Startup Grind Maryland aim to foster local and state economic growth by offering entrepreneurs the tools they want and need – from work and gathering spaces to expert guidance and educational programs – to transform their ideas into successful businesses.

bwtech will work with Startup Grind Maryland to expand its reach and services for Maryland entrepreneurs. Aaron Miscenich, Executive Director at bwtech, states “Our missions and visions closely align on many levels. Both bwtech and Startup Grind focus on educating and connecting entrepreneurs with the resources and opportunities they need to build successful and sustainable companies. This partnership will allow us to broaden our efforts and help more promising businesses thrive.”

Startup Grind recently consolidated their local chapters to establish Startup Grind Maryland, which will be headquartered at bwtech. Managing Director Chris Haug said, “As Startup Grind transitioned into a state-wide focus, we wanted to establish more centrality and certainty for our vision to serve all parts of the State of Maryland. And bwtech wanted to expand the breadth and depth of their programming and services. We quickly realized that, together, we could do far more for the Maryland innovation ecosystem than we could individually.”

Maryland Startup Accelerator Program Introduced as Partnership’s First Collaborative Project

The first project of the partnership is the launch of Maryland Startup Accelerator, an intensive, 12-week, virtual program designed to place startup founders and CEOs in the best possible position to grow a highly successful company. The program uses the acclaimed FounderTrac software to provide the tools, guidance, and resources required for success, and is managed by seasoned industry professionals, mentors, and advisors. Haug added, “We are especially proud to share that the program is created by Maryland entrepreneurs, for Maryland entrepreneurs, using Maryland-based technology.” The pilot program will launch on March 12, 2024, with a cohort of ten startup business executives, culminating in a virtual Pitch Night Gala on June 4 where participants will pitch to an audience of investors and industry leaders.
