A recognized InfraGard Maryland board member, Patrick is also active in nonprofits like Leadership Howard County and the Ulman Foundation, supporting youth and community causes.

With over 20 years of leadership at early-stage, venture-backed startups, Maurice brings a sharp instinct for growth and innovation. At DataTribe, a cybersecurity startup foundry, he invests in and co-builds emerging companies. He also serves on the advisory boards of the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland and UM Ventures’ Maryland Momentum Fund. Maurice holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the UMD, College Park, and an MBA from The Wharton School at UPenn.
Panelist: Kimberly Mentzell, Director of Cybersecurity & Lead for Emerging Technologies, Maryland Department of Commerce
Kimberly has over 20 years of experience spanning programming, network engineering, education, and cybersecurity. She holds a bachelor’s and three master’s degrees from Loyola University, Notre Dame of Maryland University, and UMD. Kimberly is deeply involved in the tech ecosystem, serving on multiple boards including the Maryland Cybersecurity Council, Cyber Maryland, TechFrederick, and the Technology Advancement Center. She also co-founded the Center for Women in Cyber at Capitol Technology University and plays an active role in cybersecurity education through the CSTA and MCCE.
Panelist: Gregg Smith, CEO, Technology Advancement Center (TAC)
Gregg is CEO of TAC, which supports the Department of Defense in cybersecurity, workforce development, and tech innovation. A seasoned cybersecurity executive, he previously led Attila Security, Archon Secure, Silent Circle, Koolspan, and Optio Labs—driving multiple successful exits totaling over $750 million. Earlier, he scaled Acuity Mobile from startup to acquisition by NAVTEQ/Nokia and led Aether’s Enterprise Division from $3M to $115M in revenue. Gregg also serves on several private boards and Maryland’s Cyber Workforce and Cyber Trust Boards. He is a graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
