Bringing autonomy and self-reliance to vision-impaired travelers in Maryland!
On June 5, bwtech MD Global Gateway client Dot Inc., and their production partner, the Kiosk Group, Inc., met with BWI Airport’s Technology & Innovation team, to present their new tactile device, designed to enhance travel accessibility for the visually impaired.
As a participant in the Maryland Department of Commerce Global Gateway program at bwtech, Dot Inc., headquartered in Seoul, Korea, was able to identify and partner with kiosk manufacturer, Kiosk Group, Inc., located in Frederick MD, to produce the new tactile display kiosk.
Dezman Jackson, a blind traveler and board of trustee member of the Blind Industries and Services of Maryland, shared his experience with traveling to date and how this innovative technology would significantly improve the experience of traveling for those with vision impairments.
