December 2024 – In an ongoing and highly successful partnership between bwtech and UMBC, graduate students from UMBC’s Engineering Project Management Odyssey Program, led by Professor Sam Negahban, Ph.D., presented their work with bwtech’s clients in the Maryland Department of Commerce Maryland Global Gateway-Soft Landing Program, validating their opportunities for entering the US market.

The Odyssey Program, part of UMBC’s Engineering Management/Advanced Project Management Application Course, is designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry for its graduate students. The program focuses on helping companies within the bwtech Global Gateway Program effectively conduct customer discovery interviews and identify their value propositions, market segments, and market entry strategies.

Student teams presented for international companies Nijta, DDLab, Curacel, Signals Sense, and Fat Potato. This collaboration between UMBC’s academic programs and bwtech’s entrepreneurial expertise exemplifies our commitment to fostering global innovation and supporting international businesses in their US market entry.

We are extremely proud of the students’ hard work and the valuable insights they provided to these international companies! This initiative enhances the students’ learning experiences and strengthens Maryland’s position as a welcoming hub for global entrepreneurs. THANK YOU to all involved in making this program a great success!
