CloudLeap Technologies, LLC has recently applied and has been accepted to participate in The Opportunity Project. The Opportunity Project, a program of the Census Open Innovation Labs at the U.S. Census Bureau and launched in March 2016, is a White House initiative to catalyze new technologies that use federal and local data to empower communities. More recently it has become a widely used model for collaborative problem solving which uses open data to build ladders of opportunity for all. It provides tools in the hands of civic organizations and families to help them navigate information and data to assist with finding jobs, training, housing, transportation, schools and other neighborhood amenities.
The current sprint focuses on providing support to workforce development in Puerto Rico, and is sponsored by the Puerto Rico Department of Economic Development and Commerce, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The challenge is to develop a digital tool to help job seekers find, train for and succeed in jobs within high-growth industries, with particular emphasis on marginalized communities. This is a 12-week sprint which began September 12, 2022. CloudLeap Technologies, LLC is currently working with user advocates to identify the need and finalize on the problem statement.
