Thursday, October 23, 2025 – bwtech had the honor of hosting Maryland Department of Commerce Secretary Harry Coker, Jr., kicking off a Maryland Commerce Collaboration Tour with a listening session and discussion with Baltimore County partners.
The event began with a networking breakfast and welcome from bwtech Executive Director Aaron Miscenich, followed by remarks from Jonathan Sachs, MBA, FACHE, PCC, Director of Baltimore County Economic and Workforce Development; County Executive Katherine A. Klausmeier; and University of Maryland, Baltimore County President Valerie Sheares Ashby.
The informal roundtable brought together key leaders from across Baltimore County—including public officials, higher education representatives, business association executives, and economic development professionals—to share insights, celebrate local successes, and discuss strategies for advancing Maryland’s economic growth.
Following the discussion, Secretary Coker toured bwtech’s South campus, where he met with member companies Athena Enzyme Systems and Natáur Inc., learning firsthand about their innovations and contributions to Maryland’s thriving tech and life sciences ecosystem.
